Emily Popli has been writing music for over 20 years, beginning as a young poet inspired by Shel Silverstein. In her early years, she gained a reputation for performing at local poetry slams and even sold love poems to classmates. Her passion for writing, singing, and piano eventually merged in high school, leading her to compose original music.

Under her maiden name, Emily Henderson, she self-released two albums—The Hope and Unwholly—as well as an EP (Growing Up) and a 2016 single, For the Rest of My Life. Her  album, Lilith Fair Kid, marks both her first release as Emily Popli and a creative evolution into professionally produced, deeply personal music she considers her most honest work yet.
